Jagathon 2023 Trunk or Treat

By:

On October 28th, we hosted our annual Trunk or Treat for our local Riley kiddos. It was an amazing Halloween theme night!

Each Jagathon Division chose their own unique theme. The Operations Division were dressed up as Scooby-Doo and the Gang, while the Membership Division were dressed as superhero from DC and Marvel Comics. We even had one of our members dress up as Captain Underpants! The Governance Division were ready to patrol the night dressed as Paw Patrol, and the External Relations Division rocked their Barbie costumes. Let’s not forget the Finance Division who all matched in ghost pumpkin outfits. It was a spooktacular event for everyone involved!

Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time helping set up the event and spending time with the kiddos and their families. Each division hosted a different activity for the kids to enjoy. Some of the games were Spooky Ice Cube Melt, Toilet Paper Tower, Eyeball Scoop, Pin the Bone on the Skeleton, and a Halloween Scavenger Hunt. Jagathon’s advisor’s son, Carter, had a blast spending most of his time trying to pin down the toilet paper tower. While Addy, one of our Riley kiddos, had a great time painting her pumpkin and chatting with Hannah Romero De Gante, President of Jagathon, throughout the night.

As the night went on, we asked Jagathon Executive Board members, “Why is it important to host an event like Trunk or Treat for the kiddos?”. MaKayla Waugh, Vice President of Governance, explained that “it’s a fun social event for our little Riley kids to come and network. It’s a way for us to meet the Riley families but also so that they could meet us and know that we are supporting them throughout the year”. Sahhi Moore, Director of Recruitment and Retention, expressed how it was important to show up and show support for the Riley kids!

Jagathon has been organizing and hosting Trunk or Treat for many years in order to bring joy to the local Riley kiddos and will continue to show support and give back to the community with more fun and festive events.
